Constitution Street – Jenkins Avenue to Classen Boulevard

Project Scope of Work:
The Constitution Street Project from the City of Norman’s 2019 transportation Bond Program is an existing 2-lane undivided roadway from Jenkins Avenue to Oak Tree Avenue and a 4-lane roadway east of Oak Tree Avenue to Classen Boulevard.
The scope of work is to improve Constitution St. from Jenkins Ave. to Ryan Ave. The desired typical section will be an undivided 3-lane section with one lane in each direction and a 12-foot two-way left-turn lane in the center. The project will include drainage analysis to incorporate an improved storm drain system along with an ADA compliant 10-foot wide multi-use trail on the north side and a 5-foot wide sidewalk on the south side of Constitution St. These corridor improvements promote safety enhancements for pedestrians and vehicles and alleviates drainage deficiencies.
Project Goals:
· Improve existing storm drain infrastructure.
· Improve bike/PED facilities to enhance pedestrian safety.
· Improve the corridor’s traffic safety, capacity and access management.
